The Harvey family of which I belong owes its Canadian abode to one James Harvie (the family name was commonly spelt Harvie until the 19th century), a miller from Dogartland, parish of Dalry, in Ayrshire, Scotland. James arrived with his wife, two sons, a daughter and his nephew at Pisiquid (Fort Edward, Windsor) Nova Scotia in May 1760. This is the story of his family, my ancestors, the land from whence they came, and the new homes they made in what became Canada.
