• isolated equipment for maintenance, conducted appropriate gas tests, and issued work permits

 

Fireman A/Second Class Stationary Engineer

New Brunswick Electric Power Commission, Fredericton, New Brunswick, 1974-1978

• apprenticed as Second Class Stationary Engineer at five thermal electrical power generation stations

• operated boilers, steam-turbine generators, pumps, fans, compressors, and related equipment

• monitored flows, temperatures, pressures, and levels, and took corrective action where necessary

• operated central control room panel and electrical switchyard equipment

 

Self-employment

1980-1988

• worked as a musician and as a sound reinforcement and stage lighting systems technician

• operated my own rental business and wrote an operation manual for this equipment

• organized and promoted music concerts
