Honorable Friends
© 1998 G.J. Griffin
"Honorable" friends you've forsaken my country.
You freebooters pillage this country of mine.
Your paradox justice and imbecile judges
weave webs of deceit that are founded on lies.
Doctors and lawyers and bankers surrounding
their Babeling towers with gold plated moats...
I laugh in your faces you ignorant bastards
'cause your value is weighed by the cost of your votes.
Economy rules as you waste through your day
and I laugh in your face as I play through mine.
You call your work "practice" while other's amongst us
must practice before we can earn a damned dime.
Your excuses are drafted in our constitutions
but you cursed bandits drew that one up too.
You opened our hen house and let in your foxes.
Now all they are full of is feathers and you.
When you're filled to the brim with yourselves on your deathbeds
and face whomever is your deity,
know that we who remain here carry on without you
and will probably eagerly judge you for free.
So go to your practice learned "honorable friend
and hoard and accumulate into the night.
Just please let us know when you're finished your practice
and then we'll let you know if you've got it right.
