This is our old Web site "European Painting Workshops" page. We did evolve since our first workshop in 1995, already more than 10 years. Hundreds of students from all over the world attended our various cultural outings with a 52% return, which is excellent for international journeying. For the moment, we removed momentarily Studio Provence and Atelier Monet; everyone seemed more interesd in our Italian art workshop. Please visit our new Web site for yourself.
Studio Italia, Studio Provence, and Atelier Monet are painting or art workshops suited for everyone; from the novice, still fighting with colors, to the more assured intermediate painter trying to find his or her own visual vocabulary, to the accomplished painter in need of new visions, new "encounters". The media you choose momentarily reflect your innerself, is up to you (oil, watercolor, graphite, charcoal, etc.).
The painting workshop Studio Italia takes place in beautiful Tuscany, land of the Renaissance only 60 minutes away from Florence. The Painting workshop Atelier Monet takes place in the Île de Paris Region, in the Val d'Oise Département, where Monet, Pissaro, and Sisley painted. As for Studio Provence our third European art workshop, takes place in Cézanne and Van Gogh's Provence, a few kilometers from Saint-Jurs (Saint-George in Provençal), where we will be painting the foothills of the Alps, the famous Gorges du Verdon, the charming city of Manosque, the Durance River, the Saint-Jurs church, and much more.
These European painting workshops are more than simple classes, they are also art history workshops which make you aware of the art and the architecture of the country in which you will be living for two weeks. Moreover, these evening lectures will help you in the orientation you are taking in your creativity so you may establish your own personal path toward image making. In Italy, visits to Rome and Florence are planned : Saint Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museum, the Uffizi, are on our path. While in Provence, a pilgrimage to Aix-en-Provence, the city of Cézanne, is almost mandatory. There, we will visit Cézanne’s studio on Chemin des Lauves, and work at the foothill of the Mont Sainte-Victoire which he often painted. In Paris, the Musée Marmottan is on the programme.
The painting workshops last 10 days, so you may use the 4 extra days elsewhere (in Rome or Paris) if you have decided to take a 14 day holiday. There is so much to see and icscis is more than ready to arrange your hotel accommodation for these extra days. You may also stay for a second art workshop at a different location.
