FSN See it. Kill it.

FSN was proud to broadcast the first match of Fishbowl II live across the realms. The contest was sure to be a good one as the Moncton Machine made their way to Landsdoom Stadium to take on the Bytown Blight. Perfect weather cleared the way for 129 000 mad, bloodthirsty ABBA fans. With the two teams' reputations for causing injury the veteran referee was keeping a close eye on them. The Machine were hoping to defeat the Blight for the first time in their history. The addition of Hayden Blockbuster was a step in that direction.

The undead won the toss and elected to receive, an on field rivalry between powerhouses Grimwald Grimbreath and Rhamaket ended up with the superstar mummy being ejected right away. Pestilence would move in to pick up the ball as the two mighty lines locked up. From out of nowhere a poison dart was fired at Grimwald...the sturdy dwarf would only be stunned by the toxin. The Blight moved the ball up a little and it was then that Machine fans held their breath, the mighty Sethos, anxious to cause some pain, seriously injured Grimbreath with a groin strain. Not able to lose his anchor, Bonzai Bob quickly dispatched the dwarven apothecary who healed the injury.

Unbeknownst to the official, Patty o' Furniture had started up the chainsaw and tried to attack Horatio the Damned, only to be diving tackled to his back by the strong zombie. As pestilence worked through the bodies, he fell into a pit trap somehow built by the dwarves prior to the game. He and the ball would be trapped, and another kickoff was forced.

This time the undead had only two turns in which to score. A bad kick by the stout ones placed the ball into the hands of Count Luthor Von Drakenburg. Doing only what the Count can, he blitzed an opening for the ghoul, Pestilence. Pest took the handoff and scampered up the sideline. Several dwarves tried to stop him, but a failed blitz left the ghoul in possession of the ball. Count Luthor again blitzed an opening and Pestilence ran the ball in for the first score of the game. The half would end. So far, neither team had suffered any casualties.

The dwarves would receive and Benjamin Longstockings blitzed Mr. Creep deep into Blight territory, finally knocking the leader over. Pat McGillicudy picked up the ball, but before the dwarves could add protection, Pestilence made a long blitz attempt with the assist of Void. On the opposite side of the line, the Count seemed to hypnotize Hayden Blockbuster and ran right past the stunned dwarf to add some protection for the ball carrier. Horatio threw a diving tackle on Longstockings, knocking him to the pitch. Pestilence could not hang on to the ball this time as the dwarves blitzed it loose.

Tinker was ejected by the referee for fouling and in protest, Coach Kargon was also ejected!! This would not allow the resilient undead to regenerate from any grievous injuries the dwarves may cause.

The slow but steady march of the dwarves was on. Arthur Stonehands badly hurt Plague, taking him out of the match. The Machine's #5 seriously injured Dr. Bones, breaking the skeletons jaw (now thats ridiculous!). Assistant coach, Slim Goodbody, used a healing scroll. Hungry to use his contraption, Pat o' Furniture attempted to chainsaw Amenhotep, but could not penetrate his formidable armor. Horatio badly hurt Samwise O'Sullivan on a diving tackle. But the dwarves would not be denied and the lack of defenders allowed them to stroll in with little time left.

Thus the game would end tied, but on the ensuing kickoff the incensed undead fans invaded the pitch by rising up through the turf. The mad corpses stunned five dwarves. On the line the blocks of the mummies knocked down the remaining dwarves. Seeing his first game action, Flavius, Sampler of Brains seized the opportunity for a snack and ended up breaking the leg of Hayden Blockbuster. The match ended on that action. Both teams escaped the "Bloodbowl" relatively unharmed. And although the match was a tie, Coach Kargon is on pace for his 30 casualties.....

No rolls for either team.
