FSN See it. Kill it.

Fishbowl II was held at Landsdoom stadium today in perfect conditions. 210 000 rabid fans both dark elven and undead were on hand to see the rookie North Gore take on Coach Kargon's Bytown Blight. The referees were letting em' go! The Blight were missing stars Mephisto and Plague, while the Gore were at full strength. Although Coach Kargon had acheived one of his 2 goals and the pressure was off, one could still see that he was intent on more pain. Perhaps even the championship that had eluded him for 3 consecutive tourneys.

The Blight won the toss and received the kickoff. The undead wasted no time in knocking down the dark elven line. Amenhotep badly hurt the Gore allied Chaos warrior and Mr. Creep took charge and fouled the downed strong man. The foul was so blatant that the officials were about to eject the Blight leader, but Kargon interjected and the call was dismissed.

Count Luthor picked up the ball and made his way to centerfield. Suddenly, Aerith Blackheart was seen falling to the pitch! The North Gore apothecary rushed out to intervene. It was later learned that an assassin had been hired by the dark elves to slay Count Luthor, but the shadowy figure was actually an otherworld agent of Kargon the Butcher. The Gore had been DOUBLE CROSSED! The trio of mighty mummies quickly stepped in to protect the Count.

The dark elves wasted no time in hurling a ball of fire at the Count and his protectors. All would be felled except for Luthor. The elves closed around the Count but failed to knock him down. Mr. Creep was badly hurt in the process but regenerated the effects straight away. The fouls were rampant by both sides.

Superstar witch elf, Aerith Blackheart tried to spur her team on by blitzing the freebooted Scourge, a new ghoul. As the two opponents collided, something went horribly wrong and although Scourge was knocked down, Aerith slumped to the pitch.....never to stir again. Her own rage undid her in the end. The dark elves wasted little time in trying to exact revenge by badly hurting Void. The Wight also regenerated the effects.

As the Gore did a great job in clogging up the field with their remaining players, Coach Kargon cast a spell on the Count given him the ability to leap over the dark elven defenders and race to the endzone. But without help, even the mighty Count could not hold off 4 dark elves and the ball was set free. The drow recovered the ball but had no time to make a move and the half would end scoreless.

North Gore received to start the second half. A magic sponge was used to reverse the injury to the Chaos warrior. The chaotic ally immediately tried to settle the score by crushing Mr. Creep. The dark elven fans cheering was hushed as the remnants of Creep's broken corpse gathered together to give him unlife once again. Was there no way to stop them?! The disoriented dark elves dropped the ball and the Count cleared a path to allow Shitz to come in and pick it up. The chaos warrior once again tried to pry the ball loose by smashing into Shitz, but the slippery ghoul evaded any damage. Things were not looking good for the swift ghoul, as the dark elves closed ranks on him and the Count. Rhamaket and Sethos lent their muscle to the undead effort. Count Luthor used his hypnotic gaze to stupify the chaos warrior, allowing Shitz to dodge away and open the scoring.

Once again the elves received but this time the undead were very prepared, executing a perfect blitz catching the agile dark ones by surprise. Tinker and Flavius fouled out two more dark elves, further reducing the number of Gore on the pitch. A beautiful kick left the ball deep in North Gore territory, allowing the Blight to close in. As the dark elves scrambled for position and picked up the ball, Flavius fouled and badly hurt Gore #7. Time was running out for North Gore to tie up the match.

Again proving his worth, Count Luthor blitzed the ball loose, allowing Shitz to pick it up once again. The elves simply did not have the manpower to impede the Army of Darkness at this late stage. Shitz ran in the TD and placed the last nail in the coffin (haha) of North Gore.

With only 6 bodies on the pitch, the dark elves could muster nothing but a completion on the ensuing kickoff. A valiant effort for a rookie team, but the Bytown Blight would not be denied their first championship.

Final score 2-0.

Not surprisingly, in a hasty post-game press conference, Coach Kargon announced the temporary suspension of Bloodbowl operations for the Bytown Blight. Much to the glee of the other teams, the undead will not return for Winterrude II. It is has been suggested that Kargon wishes to take the time to pursue plans of realms domination. The Army of Darkness my someday return.....but until then, its rotting forces return to the hallowed ground and ancient tombs from which they came forth.
