The Bytown Blight met the Nascaupi Warriors in this years FishBowl championship. The 69 000 screaming fans couldn't have asked for better weather. It was inevitable that these two superior teams would meet in the final, both coaches having demonstrated their brilliant coaching throughout the regular season. The referees were keeping a close eye on both teams, especially the Blight as they were likely to attempt to avenge the injury inflicted to Count Luthor Von Drakenburg (B#15) in the previous meeting. Even the Count's remarkable regenerative abilities could not get him into the biggest game of the season.

The Blight would choose to receive and off of a Quick Snap, quickly formed a cage. They began the march forward but were halted by a set of elven Mines once the half had been breached. With most of the corpses knocked down, the Warriors seized the ball and broke for the endzone. Despite the valiant efforts of Spiny Norman, B#16, for the Warriors would stroll in pretty much uncontested and score the first TD of the game. The Blight would not have enough time to mount an attack to tie the game and the half would end on a Warrior badly hurting wight B#3, Mephisto.

The second half would not start off well for the Blight as the elves received and W#11, Diego Maradonna, would score yet again. On the ensuing kickoff the Blight would have the benefit of another quick snap and plow four elves to the turf without breaking a sweat. The ghoul Plague (B#11) KO'd the Macho one (W#3, Hector Carmacho) out of the game.

As the undead once again charged toward the elven end zone, the Warriors wizard cast a massive fireball and sent it into the fray. Coach Kargon most assuredly was aware of the sorcerous threat but did not really have a counter against it. The mighty Sethos (B#6) suffered a serious injury to his ankle from the fireball. This moment of weakness in the Blight offensive was the perfect time for W#1 Paco Rabane to throw a custard pie in the face of B#3 Mr. Creep, one of the few corpses still standing. The elves were still unable to recapture the ball and regardless of the consequences B#9 Amenhotep would foul and KO the Warriors star #14 Earynn Wyrmsbane. With him off the pitch, B#11 Plague would score the Blight's only TD.

But it was too little too late. The final score was 2-1 in favor of the Warriors. The only good thing was that B#6 Sethos would shrug off his injury and suffer no long term effects. All in all a disappointment for Blight fans and quite a let down from a near-perfect season. It will be interesting to see if anyone will be destroyed in the off-season or if Coach Kargon will let his rage subside and prepare for WinterRude.
