Blight Slay Two Dragons

The Kenamu Dragons took their scaly hides into eerie Landsdoom stadium to take on the Bytown Blight. It was a beautiful evening and 123 000 mostly undead fans made the short trip up to the contest. As usual, the referees were keeping a close eye on the match, for fear of a bloodfest.

The undead received and Pestilence wasted no time in picking up the ball...sporting his brand new Magic Helmet. It was awarded to him by coach Kargon for his brilliant offensive play. Void wasted little time in blitzing skink #8, Titicaca, to the turf and Badly Hurting him. The apothecary would not be summoned at this point, coming to no surprise.

The Blight plowed through the Dragon line, pushing the lizards aside with relative ease. Many of the Kenamu players would see the turf face first on this day. D#11 Nahuatl suffered a fractured arm in an ill-fated attempt to dodge away from Sethos. The funeral march made an appearance and allowed Pestilence to charge in....however the referee was not in position to make the call and this allowed another lizard to try and make another hit. But he would not make it through the Blight defenders and Bytown was up. 1-0. Upon the ensuing kickoff, the lizards attempted a quick strike with some magical speed, but the skink tripped up on his own legs trying to create some distance between him and the gruesome defenders. The ball fell to the pitch and was scooped up by Pestilence. On the same play, Count Luthor killed budding star skink Limatombo, #15. Finally the apothecary would be summoned and the lizards wounds mended. A final attempt by the skink #12, Tenochtitlan, to strip the ball loose failed against the sure hands of Pestilence.

The Dragons started the second half mostly intact and received the ball, but unbeknownst to all, the lizards drink supply was tainted and the effects caused 4 of them to drop to the pitch! Saurus #4 Atahualpa would be slain at the hands of the mighty Sethos who continued his brilliant career of hurting. Despite this setback, the Dragons picked up the ball and sent a couple of players deep to try and tie the game. Mephisto joined in on the pain, seriously injuring star saurus, Runku Naqursquay. The Smashed Ankle likely means reduced mobility for the big lizard for the rest of his career. Still holding the ball, but with decimated ranks, #15 Limatombo dodged around the slower corpses and managed to tie the game 1-1. The undead received and Coach Kargon was seen handing the official several hefty bags. The undead and Count Luthor cleared a path through the thin lizard ranks and Plague took the handoff to score the winning TD. While this was going on, Tenochtitlan (D#12) was ejected for attempting to foul Pestilence.

With 5 total casualties caused this game, Coach Kargon is well on pace for his goal of 30 for the season.
