Osgoode Kings vs. Da Rock Skwadd

It was a beautiful day at Da Rock Skwadd's home field as they took on the new Dwarven entry to ABBA, The Osgoode Kings. The Orcs were heard to commit before the game that they would go easy today with fouling as they were more concerned with having their non-peaked players work on their game skills.

With word of this the Dwarves were overheard to be considering not fouling during the match in hopes to not piss off the green machine.

Even with the good intentions being offered as to a low fouling competition the Refs decided to keep an eye on the match and the IGMEOY was still in effect. Fan numbers were fairly even with the Kings bringing 23,000 brothers to the match and the Orcs had a meager 28,000 fans. The Orcs are still plagued with low turnouts this season but hope to increase their fan numbers as the season progresses.

The Kings would receive choice at the flip and opted with receiving first. The Skwadd coach decided to field his up and coming star kicker/thrower Long Arm and used him to plant a well placed kick deep in the Dwarves endzone. The Orcs showing their experience had a perfect defense on the first kickoff and with little movement they were ready for the Dwarven rush. Adopting "Da Big Green Wall" formation Da Skwadd watched as the Kings attempted to breach their defense. With some nice hitting from a Frenzied Trollslayer, the Dwarves were able to push RS#6 Hurgh out of bounds and into the hands of the waiting Dwarven fans. He was only knocked out, but this opened a hole for the dwarves to punch through. With a tight offensive line they pushed into the Orc endzone. They were too eager though, and could not shore up their defense for the ensuing Orc counterattack. The Orcs would form a sea of green around the Dwarves and after a wave of blocks the ball would be knocked loose from a King Runner and left for the Orcs.

Long Arm would run in to pick up the scattered ball and quickly launch it to RS#7 Stug-Id who would take possession of the ball and go into a holding position behind a small wall of Black Orcs. Holding the next attack off the Orcs would move into position to easily run the ball in for the first touchdown. Orcs up 1-0.

The next kick off would see Long Arm on the field and this time placing a fantastic kick close to the Orc line and in an open lane. The Orcs, again with a perfect defense which allowed them to reposition for a run on the ball, were almost unmovable by the Dwarf line. In the two wide-zones the Dwarves would this time frenzy Hurgh and Stug-id out of bounds with little result as they landed in Orcish stands.

The Dwarves would pick up the ball but as soon as they did the Orc's Goblin Shaman Snalf the Snuffled cast a Lightning Bolt. The ball carrier was down and the ball loose. With a weak offense to face the Orcs would smash into the Dwarf line and open a large gap to allow Long Arm to take the loose ball. Forming a half cage the Orcs repositioned and this time it would be RS#16 Hurg 'Teeth Knocka' Bulag who would receive the completion from Long Arm. The Orcs would push their wide cage up the field until within reach of the endzone at which time 'Teeth Knocka' would break for the endzone and put the green machine up 2-0.

Third kickoff in the first Half and again Long Arm would make a strategic kick placing the ball only a couple yards from the scrimmage line. This time the Orcs experience really took off as they Blitzed the Dwarves and quickly maneuvered to gain position of the ball.

The Orcs seemed to have an extra bit of spring in the step but it was later rumors they had bought some Magic Pills from a travelling medicine man. With more speed than is usual for Orcs they busted through the Dwarven line and using their extra legs they broke deep into the Dwarven end. Again another completion from Long Arm, this time to RS#2 Blag 'Da Skull Kicka' who would hand off to RS#14 Stomp who would bring the ball in.

Orcs up 3-0 at the Half.

Second half and Orcs receiving. The Orcs were a little slow getting off the starting line and would be blitzed by the Dwarves this time. With many Orcs down and the Dwarves pushing hard the Orcs took some time getting back in running order. The second half was much slower with a classic cage formed

after an ill-fated attempt by the Dwarves to break down a wide zone with a running clutching the ball. In the end the Orcs brought the end together with a completion from #2 Blag 'Da Skull Kicka' to #13 Long Arm who would end up handing the ball back to #2 Blag to run the ball in.

Final result: Orcs 4-0 over Kings
