Wharf Rats in the Machine

The sky was clear and the temperatures perfect as the Sin City Wharf Rats scurried into Moncton to face the Machine in Fishbowl II action. Moncton was coming off a hard fought battle against the Bytown Blight, while this was Sin City's first test. Despite the perfect weather, only 75,000 fans made it out to the game. Although the turnout was poor, the media were eager to televise this 'Big Game' (played a card). The referees were paying extra attention to the play on the field this day to ensure the younger viewers at home weren't exposed to any unnecessary violence.

Sin City won it's first coin toss and Grey Seer S'Legg opted to receive. Sin City Stormvermin Tzarkual Skab (#9), quickly opened a hole down the left side of the field which star rookie Gutter Runner, Skrequal Gazat (#6) immediately took advantage of. The kick was picked up by fellow Runner, Slitha Verminkin (#7). Verminkin threw a perfect short pass to Gazat who ran in for the easy score putting Sin City ahead 1-0 with plenty of time left on the clock.

Prior to the ensuing Kickoff, Skab was seen drinking from a small flask concealed in his armour. The potion looked to make him much more agile. Meanwhile, one of the Dwarf cheerleaders was seen slipping something into the Skaven water bottles which immediately caused 8 of the 11 Skaven to fall over.

Moncton was little embarrassed at having been scored on so quickly by such an inexperienced team. They were to determined to show these rookies a lesson. Machine runner Patty McGillicutty (#9) threw an incomplete pass to their human Blitzer Jim Rockford (#14). Frustrated by his teams lack of execution, Trollslayer Grimmwald Grimmbreath (#1) grabbed Sin City lineman Tisqueek Blodge (#14) and proceeded to bend him in ways that no living creature is meant to bend. Blodge would be out for the remainder of the game. Inspired by Grimmbreath's show of emotion, the Machine trundled down field allowing McGillicutty to score, tying the game at 1 and thus making up for his bad pass.

Eagle-eyed referee 'Sightless' Joe Bjornsturm, ejected Machine Longbeard Patty O'Furniture (#7) for illeagal use of a chainsaw.

Grey Seer S'Legg had a few tricks up his sleeve and in a display of Brilliant Coaching, ran another play down the left field side. Verminkin again connected with Gazat but the horn sounded ending the first half.

Moncton would again be on offence to start the second half and started their drive with a frenzy of hits. One hit by Benjamin Longstockings (#10) would lead to the death of Stormvermin Skab, but Sin City apothecary Vilebroth Null chittered some vile words averting the death. Peter Poundalot (#11) would badly hurt Skritt Hrishak (#11) paving the way for a score by Jim Rockford, putting the Machine up 2-1.

Sin City would recieve, but a dazzleing play called in by the Machine coaching staff left the Wharf Rats standing around in wide-eyed amazment. Sin City Thrower Heskitt One-Eye (#8) would find himself alone with the ball, in the backfield with Dwarves converging from all angles. Speedy McBride (#12) would deliver the merciless hit. With Null having expended all his magical energies, the Skaven team could only watch as One-Eye breathed his last breath. The Machine pounding continued with Angus Redfist (#2) being ejected for a foul before Benjaomin Longstockings (#10) would score the Machines third touchdown of the day.

With time winding down, and the casualties mounting, Grey Seer S'Legg attempted damage control to minimize his losses. Still, before the game was finished McGillicutty would badly hurt Lineman Noi Klisqueek (#12) and Queg Yellowfang (#13) would suffer a Strained Groin resulting from a foul. Yellowfang will miss Sin City's next game.

Final Score: Moncton 3, Sin City 1.

Sin City announced the signing of a new Stormvermin Skritt Bloodthirster (#2) from the mutating vats of Clan Moulder. The Great Horned Rat has blessed Bloodthister with the addition of a Claw and Razor Sharp Fangs.

Grey Seer S'Legg had this comment concerning the game and what Bloodthirster will mean to this team, "Worthless Dwarf-things. Revenge, Revenge! Death to all Dwarf-things. Bloodthirster; Kill-Kill."
