Pets are wonderful and enhance our lives in many positive and healthy ways. In the course of our day-to-day lives, they become part of the family and our daily schedule. Pets thrive on routine, they know when the school bus arrives, when they are to be fed, where they are going to sleep and most importantly, where they and their owners live. HOME. In their own surroundings your pets know exactly where everything is and they know that when you leave, it's where you always come back to. Just imagine how confusing it is for them to be taken out of their home and boarded elsewhere, even with friends or family while you are away. Add old age or illness to that scenario and a pet's health can deteriorate very quickly. Even worse, imagine them catching an illness while they are elsewhere! Some dogs thrive in a kennel atmosphere, but some others feel abandoned, confused, punished or stressed. It can take weeks for them to return to normal. I also have four horses and they need different care than small pets. Friends and family were unfamiliar with horses and reluctant to take on the well-being of such a large animal. They were not sure how to tell if the horse was healthy or not. Colic, laminitis or getting loose, can all spell disaster for a horse! More so, they were not used to horses and were just plain afraid of them! I started my mobile pet sitting business in March 2005 and haven't looked backā¦.been too busy! I keep a bulletin board in my office filled with notes, letters and cards from clients, expressing their thanks and heartfelt appreciation for my services, hard work and little extras. Bonus is when I come home after a late night of driving through a blinding snowstorm or freezing rain, and there is a message from a customer waiting on my phone, telling me that they just had to call and let me know how happy they are to have found me and New Moon Animal Care! Our newest venture is "The Cattery" - you asked for it and we built it! It's a place where cats can stay long term or short term, in an environment made just for them. Many people don't like leaving their cats alone in the house with a once a day visit. This was the perfect solution! Safe, well-cared for, with tons of company twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, your cat will hardly notice you're gone...okay they will, but we try hard! A large play area and a sun porch, top off the days that you are away with lots of interesting things for your cat to do. We opened May 1, 2008, and here we are May 3rd with our first three cats in residence. We're all loving it. Keep checking in...2008 is going to be a exciting year for us with lots of new services in the bag! |
