Landscapes
4 to 5 days,
Level: Intermediate to Advanced

In each of these workshops, students will work from photographs of a place that is familiar to them as their source of inspiration.  They will learn to create a composition that best expresses the landscape.  Participants will learn to use several textile paint mediums plus pencil crayons and which one best expresses different aspects of their image. They will then progress into using some machine embroidery for those who are interested.  Hand embroidery will be the focus as each student learns to interpret rocks, trees, shrubs, grasses, wildflowers, ground, hills and buildings.

Choose from one of four themes:

  • Shorelines - focuses on the contrast of water and land
  • Field and Meadow - focuses on rural fields, wildflowers, barns, trees, mountain meadows
  • Home and Garden - focuses on the urban landscape of houses, gardens and beautiful places to stroll
  • Tree Portraits - focuses on single tree species or the woodland landscape
