Wild Rose and Dragonflies
2 day workshop - all levels
Size - 6" x 6"
No thread is comparable to flat silk for its luminosity and ability to create
dimension with little shading. This small study of the western wild rose, rosa
acicularis is done using Pipers flat silks on a black background of dupionni
silk.. The student will learn how to handle and embroider with flat silks,
discovering their unparalleled sheen. Radial stitching, long and short stitch,
voiding and split stitch will be taught. The dragonflies are worked in metallic
threads.
